• Dr. Phil V Mitchell , practice owner

  
  

  Dr. Mitchell graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. He belongs to the American Veterinary Medical Association, Alabama Veterinary Medical Association, Central Alabama Medical Association, and Alabama Cattleman's Association. He has two children and is an active parent of Macon-East Montgomery Academy. He is especially interested in ultrasound technology as it applies to his patients.

• Dr. Robert Speight , practice owner

  
  

  A native of Montgomery, Dr Speight graduated from Auburn University’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. Dr. Speight practiced locally for six and a half years before opening Taylor Crossing Animal Hospital with his partner, Dr. Phil Mitchell, in December of 1990.           Married to Jennifer Speight, he has three children, Trey, Shea, and Griffin. Dr. Speight is a member of Frazier United Methodist Church. He is active in his community, volunteering his time teaching Anatomy to seniors at Macon-East Montgomery Academy and has been a member of the Board of Trustees at Macon-East Montgomery Academy for the past five years.           Dr. Speight is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association.

• Dr. Zeb A King , associate

  
  

  Dr. King joined the staff at Taylor Crossing after graduating from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2005. He is a member of the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association and also the American Animal Hospital Association.  Dr. King grew up in North Alabama but has enjoyed his time here in Montgomery.  He is an active member of Frazier United Methodist Church and the local YMCA.   He and his wife Michela have been married since July 2007 and are expecting their first child in November 2008.      Dr. King's special interests include ear disease, soft tissue surgery and weight managment.  In his spare time Dr. King owns and operates a landscaping/irrigation business. The King family have 2 Labs (Maggie and Dixon), a Daschund (Miles), and 2 cats (Chloe and Stella)

• Dr. Joseph B. Atwell , Associate

  
  

  Dr. Atwell has been at Taylor Crossing Animal Hospital since March of 2008, where he completed a preceptorship.  He graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008.  He is a member of The American Veterinary Medical Association and the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Atwell has 3 dogs: Chubs (Boxer Mix), Lola (English Bulldog), and Tink (Shih-Tzu), a cat (Leon), and several fishtanks.

  I am a graduate of Auburn University earning a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Business Administration. While at Auburn, I worked with the chemistry department utilizing and educational grant from Pfizer. After graduate school, I pursued a career in the pharmaceutical industry retiring after ten years to spend more time with my family. Dr. Speight and Dr. Mitchell have given me a wonderful opportunity, here at Taylor Crossing, to develop incredible talented employees and helping each of them reach their fullest potential is extremely rewarding. I have 5 cats and 2 bird dogs, which bring my husband and son great joy and are incredible to watch during bird season.

  I have a Bachelor's in Business Administration from Faulkner University where I also played softball for 2 years. I love working here at Taylor Crossing because I have been given the opportunity to do something I enjoy. In my spare time, I enjoy softball, basketball, volleyball, running, and weight lifting. I have two very spoiled dogs, Champ and Chase, and two very spoiled cats, Angel and Scooter.

  I am a graduate of Holtville High School and a nine year veteran here at Taylor Crossing. My goal is to make the Taylor Crossing Animal Hospital Resort the best all over and to have the happiest animals in town. The doctors are the most caring and appreciative that I have ever worked for, as well as, all of the sweet animals and clients that come to see us!

  I have been married to my husband Jonny for three years.  I have been working at TCAH for five years. I enjoy working with the animals and working with a great staff. I have three pets of my own: Madie, a very energetic Pomeranian,  Felicity, a very independent cat that loves lying in the window, and Trooper a lab mix that is my favorite.

  I am enrolled at AUM in Physical Education.  I am planning on graduating in the spring of 2009.  I am engaged to a beautiful Auburn graduate and plan on getting married in the spring of 2009.  I enjoy hunting, fishin, and playing cards whenever I am not working.  I have two dogs: one named Riley, a yellow lab (Dr. King says she is overweight but I think that there is just more of her to love), and a black lab named Darby, who is my hunting dog.

  I graduated Valedictorian from Theodore High School in Mobile AL. I have a degree in Chemistry from AUM. I have worked at Taylor Crossing since November of 2003 and have enjoyed getting to know all the clients and their pets.  I have a Shiba Inu named Buster that I adopted and has become my four legged child.  He comes to work with me almost every day.

  I was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama.  I attended Trinity Presbyterian School, then received a B.A. in Communication Studies at A.U.M.  I have a 9 year old Husky named Bo, who has seen the Veterinarians at Taylor Crossing Animal Hospital his entire life.  I have enjoyed working with everyone here for the past 6 months!
